Road Trip: Day 6

Hello all! Back again with another roundup. I mentioned yesterday that I may have just had the ‘high’ of the entire trip. How do we follow that up? Hopefully with a visit to the Lake District!

1st destination: Lake District National Park

The drive through the Lake District up and down winding road and through little villages was fun with spectacular views like these.

It was really busy however, with it being a bank holiday weekend. The river was filled with little boats with people enjoying the warm weather and the sunshine out in the middle of the lake. It was a departure from the last few days I’ve experienced away from most of civilisation.

After getting a drink at a cafe on the banks of lake Windermere, we set off again.

2nd Destination: Manchester

After a very little detour to visit my cousin’s friend in Preston, we made it to our hotel in Manchester just after 6PM. We quickly checked in and headed out to see the Trafford Centre.

This shopping centre is immense. It is the second largest shopping centre in the UK and you certainly feel how expansive it is while walking through it. As soon as you enter through the main entrance, you feel like you’re entering a Roman castle. It took us over an hour just walk through the centre without visiting shops.

After some dinner and a quick drive past the Old Trafford Stadium, we headed back to the hotel to rest up…excited for the return journey home.

Thats the Day 6 and the final ‘day’ roundup of the road trip. Find the roundup of the rest of the days down below:

What did you think? Any final recommendations while I’m in this part of the country? Let me know! Hit me up on Twitter or Facebook. And most importantly…

Stay awesome!
