This week in movie trailers

Here’s a round-up of the biggest, best and most noteworthy trailers from the week just gone.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

When their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage, the Kingsman’s journey leads them to the discovery of an allied spy organization in the US. These two elite secret organizations must band together to defeat a common enemy. (IMDb)

My favourite part of the first Kingsman movie was Colin Firth kicking ass and I am so glad that he is back even if it makes absolutely no sense. It looks like they’ve upped the ante; the action is much more extravagant, some epic locations and more interesting new characters. Even if this cannot surpass the first one, at the very least it looks like a hell of a lot of fun.

Kingsman: The Golden Circle comes out on 22nd September in the USA and 29th September in the UK….What’s up with that? This is a co-British production so at the very least it should be released at the same time!!

Gloria is an out-of-work party girl forced to leave her life in NY and move back home. When reports surface that a giant creature is destroying Seoul, she gradually comes to the realization that she is somehow connected to this phenomenon. (IMDb)

What madness in this?! A monster comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis that isn’t necessarily epic but has a giant monster fighting a giant robot nonetheless. I don’t know how I can say no to such a convergence of factors. This looks brilliantly inventive and a lot of fun.

Colossal is currently on a gradual release cycle and comes out here in the UK on 19th May.

Cars 3

Lightning McQueen sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he’s still the best race car in the world. (IMDb)

So yeah, this is happening. I really enjoyed the first Cars movie but the second one was absolute garbage. This trailer got me. There are so many philosophies even in this trailer that you can apply to life in general. Something I really liked was the quote “Don’t fear failure, be afraid of not having the chance.” It almost feels like a comeback film after the disaster of the previous installment. At the end of the day, this is Pixar and I will always be up for anything that is Pixar.

Cars 3 comes out on 16th June in the USA and 14th July in the UK.

These are some of the most notable trailers to come out in the past 7 days. After you’ve watched them all, let me know what you think.
